Africa Forward Summit: How Macron is pressing ahead in Kenya – without India and Germany

For business leaders, Nairobi is hard to ignore this week: Macron is hosting a major summit alongside Kenyan President William Ruto, with many African presidents also in attendance. However, Macron’s push into Anglophone Africa – focused on artificial intelligence, energy and space – will be a French solo effort rather than the planned trio with Germany and India.

Terrorism: Uncertainty in Mali following a wave of attacks

Over the weekend, al-Qaida-linked terrorists and separatists from the Front de Libération de l’Azawad (FLA) launched coordinated attacks on several major cities in Mali. The defense minister was killed in Bamako. The military government has remained tight-lipped, and its future appears uncertain.
